in home sessions

I get it, when you’re growing + raising + expanding your family everything feels harder. I’m stuck right between two worlds: I have kids ranging from four years old to eleven years old, and there is such a difference in the parts of my day. I remember - so vividly - what it was like when my oldest was 4. How everything felt new, fresh, young (!). And while it’s overwhelming in those moments, there’s nothing quite like having the photos to go back (I don’t know about you, but my sleep was close to not existing at that time, so my memory is a little fuzzy!) and look at how we lived those years. How we lived those years, but like, freshly, through a photographer’s eyes.

That’s my hope for an in home session. Within the comfort of your home, your children open up, show me them, and I get to capture a true piece of what your life looks like in these moments.

how the sessions work

We’ll decide on a time, and hopefully start at home. We’ll plan to shoot for about 90 minutes, but my biggest promise is that I won’t keep shooting if I can tell that you / your kids are D-O-N-E. I like when I can arrive and you’re not rushing to “get ready for photos” but rather it feels organic as I can enter into your home, and get to know + help the kids get comfortable with me by not putting the pressure on them to start performing for the camera right away. It might be me reading some books to a new big sis, or giving your middle child (we call our middles the “tweedles” because they are always looking for a little bit more ;) ) some attention…but number one key is that we’re all comfortable and ready to make some magic happen!

what’s in a newborn session

You’ve done it! Congrats on your sweet transition into parenthood. I am so glad you’re here + thinking about capturing this time forever. The newborn phase is tough. It’s all the things being thrown at you at once - prepared or not! I hope when I come into your home for these sessions, it feels like an old friend coming in to catch up, encourage you to spend an afternoon slowing down with your babe, and really taking in all the things that these days are about. When I was a newborn mom, I know I lived by the sayings “THESE ARE THE DAYS” but also “THE BEST IS YET TO COME.” I promise to honor that love I see happening in your new family!

M O R E T I M E

you are all adjusting to your new normal. Or, “normal” if you’re lucky, it’ll never be that old normal again. We will take our time and shoot up to two hours.

I am not your baby in a basket photographer. We will work with baby to definitely get some sweet + snuggled individual portraits, but if there’s anything I know about infants, it’s that they’re always happier when they’re in your arms.

Mini sessions

why?

Photos + Children = stress. Even for the best of us. BUT mini sessions are a GREAT + affordable way to upgrade those yearly photos that are always worth it once it’s over ;) trust me, I know!

when?

These mini sessions differ from my bi annual mini sessions in that they’re done on YOUR schedule. You won’t be smushed in between two other families for an allotted 20 minutes. I will shoot for about 30 minutes, but we’ve got some wiggle room. Great if you have a larger family, or you think your kids might need some extra warming up time.
