the end of summer on film
this time of year is always weird. the sudden change in darkness (I’m being dramatic) seems to happen so quickly. We spend all the summer months feeling free to do photos at weddings as we wish, now it’s like, “y’all eat? let’s … uh… go?” (or not, if you’ve looked around, I’m not one to force anyone to do any photos you’re feeling meh about!
So as these scans came in this week, I’m loving reliving back to warmer and longer days. As this blog usually goes: enjoy a mix of all the photos from all the events in no particular order! If you’re engaged and searching around here thinking we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out! Let’s start a convo and see how I can serve you!!
Jorgensen Farms, The Gardens, Engagement session
engagement session taken at Jorgensen Farms The Garden Venue in harvest season. Flower fields and a beautiful couple walk barefoot around the farm for photos
It’s such a fun time getting to know couples during an engagement session. Truth be told it’s as much a get to know you session as it is make photos for an engagement session. I love the slower pace of meandering around, with the couple trusting me to catch pretty locations to stop and make some images that will serve to show this time in their lives. Talking about the wedding, but mostly just learning about their lives, love, and of course PETS. Enjoy a few from Gina + Ryan’s engagement session at Jorgensen Farms Garden venue. A year from today they’ll get married at Oak Grove!
Emily + Brian | engaged!
engagement session in the woods in summertime. shot on digital and film in Columbus Ohio
a quick + sweet engagement session from this summer (take me back, what I wouldn’t give to be unbearably hot like it was this day!) with Emily + Brian + their pups. shot on digital + film (with double exposed xmas lights // portrait 400)
Danielle + David | married at Oak Grove
jorgensen farm ohio wedding shot at the oak grove venue on film and digital by jessica love photography
I'm blogging a wedding! I'm blogging a wedding!
Danielle + I met when I was 100 months pregnant with Shiloh, and I assured her I'd be totally good with shooting her wedding just a month after his due date. It's such a strange thing being a woman, having children, owning your own business, etc. etc. but that's a blog post for another day! TODAY, I'm going to share some of the beauty I saw on that October night.
This venue is one of the two that Jorgensen Farms offers and, it's no secret I'm obsessed with it! I'm hoping hoping hoping to have my second round of mini sessions right there in this gorgeous greenhouse, so keep an eye out here for an announcement!
Beyond pretty, this wedding was just....easy. Their love was easy, their friends and family were easy...like it was just meant to be! Shot on digital + Fuji 400H film + HP5 film.
Alyssa + Andrew | New Albany Links Wedding
I could be the worst blogger in the wedding photography industry. I've been so fortunate that so much of my business comes from referrals from previous clients who just know my work, or who've been in bridal parties that I've worked with. I love + my business thrives on referrals. BUT! Maybe you're out there and you're a stranger, AND you're looking for a wedding photographer. I'm not reaching you by not blogging. That's seriously doing myself a disservice. So here we go! A month until wedding season starts + I'm determined to show a whole lot of my 2015 (yes, that's correct, 2015) and 2016 couples who I adore.
First up is Alyssa + Andrew. What stands out most is when we met, Alyssa describing her, and her family's love of the movie Father of the Bride. A tent wedding, everything about it. I love knowing the whycouples pick certain things on their wedding day. I love that Alyssa had such a wonderful experience on her own wedding day that was something she probably thought about over and over again with her sisters!
Enjoy reliving their day as I saw it last May!
