summertime

June 30, 2010

This weekend kicked off the beginning of our wedding season, and we couldn’t be happier. We had a long stretch between our last (New Year’s Eve) wedding and Friday. And I’m thrilled to be shooting weddings without an extra person in me!

I figured before I flood the blog (because, yes, I intend to blog – in detail – all of our jobs this summer) with beautiful love bird newlyweds, I could give a family update.

Finn is growing like a weed! We’re having more and more fun everyday as the bouts of crying are replaced with smiles and cooing (or a-goooo! -ing, as it were). It’s beyond amazing to see a little personality develop…and then to think about how everyday, every interaction, we’re helping it to be created. I find myself anxiously waiting for his naps and sleeptime to be over to see what new skills he’ll show me, and reluctantly put him down for more rest when it’s time. All in all, life is good!

And now a random assortment of pictures….

Helping Jagee to celebrate his retirement ! And saying hello to Nanny with his cousin Ellise.

Dipping his feet into Nanny G and Papa’s pool!

We never thought a chance encounter with Lucy and Matt at World Market around Thanksgiving would turn into our first wedding of the summer. Here’s a sneak peek, can you even get enough of how gorgeous Lucy is!? SO very excited about the rest of these pictures, can’t wait to share them!

Ahhhhhh, I adore this picture!

Sara and Mark’s E-session was our first shoot since Finn joined us. We brought him along, and were super nervous about how he’d do. Luckily, he spent the whole time sleeping like, well, a baby, in his stroller.
Sara and Mark like to get outside, and suggested that we meet at a Metropark. We decided on High Banks, and it worked great. We didn’t have to go far into the woods (yay, stroller friendly!) and it was nice and cool to shoot.

Excited for their October wedding, we know they’ll have awesome details, and I can’t wait to see how Sara’s all styled up for her day!

We love getting out and shooting in new places. Our old standard E-session locale is Good ol’ Goodale Park. We love when clients suggest new places for us to explore. Katie and Josh were troopers in the heat, it had to be high 80’s! We can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this summer!

Where have we been?!? A bit preoccupied, I’d say…..

introducing….. Mr. Finn! We welcomed baby boy into our family on May 4th, and he’s completely changed our lives. It’s been amazing to see him grow and change already in just the short (and I mean SHORT, this month FLEW BY!!) time he’s been alive. Needless to say he’s captured our hearts, and we wonder if there will ever be a day when simply watching him sleep and studying his adorable features will ever get old.

He’s got us pretty busy, but we’ve had time to shoot two E-sessions, a baby shoot, and will be starting our wedding season soon!

Here’s a sneak peak of what’s in store in the next few weeks
