as a photographer, i believe that my job is to give each bride i work with the best resources and help so that she can be well informed, and have an easier time making decisions. yes, i will focus on your photographs, but i will also answer all of your questions completely honestly in the hopes that it helps you figure out what you want. that being said, there have to be people out there who follow our blog who aren’t even planning their wedding yet, and aren’t even using us for their photography. this post is to help YOU!
during the off season it’s fun to look back at last year’s pictures and oogle over how gorgeous they are reflect on how we’ve grown. as i did that, i decided i wanted to share my favorite venues that we shot at in 2011. it just so happens that there is one from each city we shoot in (for the majority of our weddings) – cleveland, columbus, and cincinnati. and as a disclaimer, i could have certainly picked something awesome and YOU MUST PICK THIS VENUE from just about all of our weddings, but i really tried to narrow it down to my absolute faves! here we go!
CLEVELAND
meadowridge farms in windsor, ohio. first, it’s a total blank canvas that you can decorate as you’d like. the ceremony site is perfection (especially for audra + matt’s september wedding, i swear the sun shone golden the whole day long!), and the field! are you kidding me with the field! i’ll take any bride out to a field and have a dream shoot
and not only are the grounds gorgeous on their own, days before a + m’s wedding – when we were having torrential downpours on the reg in ohio, the staff at meadowridge went ahead and installed a last minute drainage system to assure their day wouldn’t be ruined by the weather.
this is totally no surprise to anyone who knows me (or is planning their wedding, ahem, terry and jordan!). i love, adore, am obsessed with the columbus art museum as a ceremony site. probably, as a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception site, but i can only attest to the awesomeness of a ceremony there. loved every moment of it. would love it even more (maybe?) in the wintery months when an outdoor ceremony isn’t possible. the glass ceiling is unbeatable from a photographers point of view!!
again, i feel like this is another no brainer for people who know us. when we arrived at the cincinnati nature center it was as if we were living a dream! the lights, the gorgeous cabin, the woods. perfection in a wedding day.

there you have it! i hope we get the chance to shoot these venues again.
is anyone else pining for a finn update? just me? i guess up next is (at least) editing those beloved christmas, new year, and the whole month of january pics. sheesh. it’s over already?
